Carrie Willer, PhD

Dr. Willer is a graduate of the Appleton Area School District.  She holds a PhD in Educational Leadership and previously taught French at the elementary and middle school levels within our district.  

Before becoming the principal at Franklin Elementary School, she was the Associate Principal at Kaleidoscope Academy, formerly known as Roosevelt Middle School.

Matthew Wolfert

Matt Wolfert began his career with the Appleton Area School District in 2016 at Houdini Elementary School. There, he taught 2nd and 3rd grade, was a PBIS Internal Site Coordinator, served on the district's PBIS Committee, and was also a part of the district's ELA Essential Standards Committee. Additionally, Mr. Wolfert coordinates the summer school program at Johnston Elementary School.

Prior to working in Appleton, Mr. Wolfert lived in South Africa and worked with the US Peace Corps. His role was primarily focused on strengthening English and math instruction by providing teacher development opportunities and resources at a rural elementary school.

As Franklin Elementary School's Dean of Students, Mr. Wolfert works together with the principal, staff, and families to ensure high-quality education is accessible to all students. He is also committed to increasing the school's attendance rate and maintaining a safe and welcoming learning environment.
